You’ve heard the rumors, but in case your desk is situated under a rock, we’ll elaborate. In the state of Florida, all insurance lawsuits must be served on the CFO as Registered Agent. That’s a lot of lawsuits because, ya know, insurance companies do tons of law-suity things. Enough with the legalese, right? To ensure “ease of service” and to make things “run more smoothly”, the laws of civil process are being challenged and a web-portal is under construction. You’ll soon be able to upload pdf’s and send them on their way!
But let’s pause for just a second and dissect the news a little bit. Whose process will this “ease” and for whom will things “run more smoothly”?
For a quick comparison, let’s look at a different government mandated website roll out shit-show. Raise your hand if you remember the Affordable Care Act initial enrolment! It doesn’t matter if you love President Obama or if you’re Ammon Bundy. The roll out was a mess, akin to a web-based face palm. Furthermore, the ACA hasn’t saved everyday people the money it promised. Following this logic- that government mandates do not save time or money, and will be disorganized because they still involve government employees who loath (#truthbomb) their jobs- it stands to reason that we’re better off without this particular “convenience”.
Because here’s the thing… you still have to pay for this portal service. The difference is, you will not be guaranteed quality. In fact, it could stand to reason that you’d be guaranteed the opposite of quality.
Accurate Serve, on the other hand, will keep working for you in the face of adversity. We put our pants on one leg at a time, just like any government employee. But once our pants are on, we deliver. We don’t take union breaks. We take pride in our work and we don’t stop until every paper is accounted for. You’ll never be in the dark with us as your servers…. unless your desk is still under a rock. We’ll have HR look into that.
