The best process servers will be those that deliver papers quickly and get back with fast returns. This is crucial because not only is it a legal requirement but it also enables you to pass the news on to your client giving them the reassurance that you are making progress and helping them to get past that difficult first step. If your process servers are slow then this can make you look incompetent.
At the same time, good process servers must be professional and polite in delivering papers. This is a sensitive time for the recipients and if your servers don’t maintain a detached attitude then they can again make you look less professional as a firm as well as upsetting the defendant and potentially making them more aggressive.
Good process servers should also of course be affordable and likely this will mean that you can increase the profits for your firm while at the same time passing on great rates to your own clients. While you want to make savings though, it’s important to remember that you do ‘get what you pay for’ to an extent. If you try to cut corners here and save too much money, you may find out your papers aren’t actually getting to their destination!
